August has been a month of getting out and about, building connections and learning from the brilliant South Wales businesses and the people on our doorstep.
From site visits and open days to welcoming new faces into 2HT and learning more about sustainability, it’s been another busy month for Team TMPR.
Out and about
August has been a busy month for getting out from behind our desks, building new connections and learning more about some brilliant businesses across South Wales.
- Louise Morgan visited Gwrhyd Specialist Stone Quarry to catch up with Katherine Adams and get a first-hand look at the home of Blue Pennant stone – complete with a lesson in rivens, coursing and semi-coursing, and a few furry faces along the way!
- Louise also headed to Genpower Ltd in Newport, where managing director Nicola Garnish gave a behind-the-scenes look at its impressive product design, manufacturing and fulfilment operation.
- Tom and Oliver visited PWIDF for a tour of its fire door production facility, building our knowledge of the manufacturing process and the wider fire door sector, a huge thank you to Dave Timson for hosting us.
- Tom headed along to FenTrade’s open day, getting an inside look at the business and its operations, appreciate the invitation Chris Reeks.
- Mollie and Louise met with PA Promotions to learn more about each other’s businesses and explore how we could collaborate in future.
Plenty of new knowledge, new connections and reasons to get away from our desks!

Supporting our team
Following feedback from our latest TMPR Tap, in August we kicked off a new partnership with Martyn Wagstaff at Springfield Advisory to strengthen the mental health and wellbeing support available to our team.
Springfield’s flexible, personal approach felt like a natural fit for TMPR, and Martyn has already been into 2HT to meet the team and introduce the support available
We’re really pleased to be working with Martyn and looking forward to seeing the positive impact this will have for our team!

New blog: Your event doesn’t have to end when the doors close…
We’ve spent plenty of time out and about ourselves this month – and it’s also got us thinking about how businesses can make more of the events they attend.
With the right planning, an event can be much more than a moment in the calendar.
From striking social posts and fresh photography to blogs, videos, podcasts and collaborations, there are plenty of ways to turn one event into weeks – or even months – of content.
In our latest blog, we’ve shared some of our top tips for making that happen and turning your next event into a content goldmine.

Team news
It wouldn’t be a TMPR newsletter without a few updates from the team…
- We renewed our membership with We Show the Salary, continuing our commitment to transparency when it comes to recruitment.
- International Cat Day and International Dog Day gave us the perfect excuse to introduce some of the four-legged members of Team TMPR.
- And while we said goodbye to Rach last month, she made sure she left her mark on 2HT with some memorable parting gifts – including a new toastie machine and our own personalised portraits of the team!

Acting Sustainably
Living our values is a big part of life at TMPR, and this month we turned our attention to #ActingSustainably.
A dedicated ‘Lunch and Learn’ session gave us the chance to learn more about the circular economy and how manufacturers and the construction industry can design out waste.
Bringing different perspectives and expertise into the agency helps us broaden our knowledge and keep challenging how we think and work.
If anyone wants to pop in and deliver a ‘Lunch and Learn’ session on manufacturing, construction or growth related topics, get in touch with Jessica Hollyman.
As we head into September, we’re looking forward to putting everything we’ve learned this month into practice, continuing to expand our connections and, as always, supporting our brilliant clients.
See you next month!
