TMPR partners with Cardiff Uni to support future marketers

Throughout February, the TMPR team has been joining forces with Cardiff University for a series of exciting events.

Mollie and Abby waved the TMPR flag at the School of Journalism, Media, and Culture meet and greet. The event provided an opportunity for third year students to meet with employers like TMPR and find out about life in industry. Talking to students, they heard about their excitement to join the busy world of marketing and PR. The team answered questions about day-to-day work and shared their own journeys as part of the TMPR team.

The fun didn’t stop there. Tom represented TMPR and joined an employer panel discussing marketing, PR, and social media. Speaking to students across undergraduate and postgraduate studies, Tom had the opportunity to introduce himself and the business, whilst talking through his journey so far. This led into a Q&A session in which, alongside three other panellists representing local firms, Tom answered specific questions and provided advice about pathways into marketing and PR. Having thoroughly enjoyed the experience, Tom found it eye-opening to see the hunger and growth potential in our local area. The students asked thought-provoking questions that demonstrated a great early understanding of our field and left Tom walking away with some new ideas to bring back to the team.

Finally, Cardiff University was looking for a local business owner who was eager to talk to students studying MSc Business Strategy and Entrepreneurship. As the founder and director of TMPR, Louise took the lead on this one, delivering a guest talk on her career history and experience of building TMPR. Her session was part of a series of guest talks that the university was hosting to support students studying the Entrepreneurial Marketing module.

Engaging with an enthusiastic and inquisitive audience, Louise answered questions about AI in marketing as well as the role freelance partners can play in business growth.

Empowering growth is hugely important at TMPR, so opportunities to partner with local education institutions are instrumental in giving back to our industry and helping to inspire the next generation of marketing, PR and communications professionals.

We’re currently finalising our own student engagement and graduate programmes. If you’re interested in joining our waiting list to find out more, please email hello@tmpr.co.uk.
