To position CHEC as an industry leader in UK healthcare, we were briefed to raise the profile of its pioneering business initiatives and the visionary individuals behind them.
We recommended a targeted industry awards strategy to showcase the innovation, impact, and people driving the business forward.
Leveraging our B2B expertise, we developed a strategic awards calendar that aligned with CHEC’s growth journey and business milestones. Over an eight-month period, we entered into nine categories at six highly competitive awards. CHEC received six shortlists, and from there went on to achieve two wins and two high commendations.
Each entry was crafted to spotlight CHEC’s commitment to patient care, operational excellence, and innovative practices within community-based healthcare. Our storytelling expertise helped position CHEC not only as a leader in its field, but also as a forward-thinking organisation driving meaningful change in UK healthcare delivery.
Challenge
We were tasked with a clear objective: raise the profile of the business. CHEC’s story is one of rapid growth, innovation, and patient-first values – and our challenge was to help them gain the industry attention they deserve. We developed a strategic awards programme, but the goal wasn’t simply to collect trophies. We needed to bring attention to the exciting initiatives transforming patient care, and shine a light on the exceptional people behind the scenes. The emphasis was on quality not quantity, submitting high-calibre entries that reflected the real value CHEC brings to the healthcare sector.
Solution
We designed and implemented an awards strategy that aligned with CHEC’s long-term objectives and positioned the organisation as a leader in its field. Our approach focused on identifying opportunities that best reflected CHEC’s values, growth trajectory, and commitment to excellence – spanning healthcare, workplace culture, innovation, and individual achievement.
Acting as a trusted communications partner, we provided expert guidance throughout the process: from shaping the awards calendar and selecting the most impactful categories, to drawing out the strongest evidence from across the business. We worked closely with CHEC’s senior leadership and wider team to uncover the powerful stories behind its success. Then, we used our expertise to craft compelling, high-quality entries that resonated with judges. This collaborative, insight-led approach not only ensured each submission was strategically aligned, but also helped the business articulate its value in a way that captured attention and earned recognition.
Our copywriting approach was key: we didn’t just state achievements, we told stories. Stories of impact, growth, patient outcomes, internal culture, and innovation. Every award entry was a collaboration, pulling in knowledge from all areas of the business to ensure the submission was both authentic and powerful.

Outcomes
The results speak for themselves. Over eight months, we entered into nine categories at six competitive awards, and six of our entries were shortlisted. CHEC then went on to win two awards and receive two high commendations. Among the wins were ‘Best Specialist Care Provider’ and ‘Excellence in Eye Care Services’ at the Healthcare Awards. CHEC was also shortlisted for ‘Best Healthcare Outcomes’ and ‘Leadership Team of the Year’ at the LaingBuisson Awards, and received the highly commended accolade at the BIBAs in the ‘Business of the Year’ and ‘Service Business of the Year’ categories.
Our work helped raise CHEC’s profile regionally and nationally, elevating the business as a leader in innovation and care. It also brought well-deserved recognition to the individuals and teams driving positive change.
